Tony Calandro

Mr. Calandro co-leads the sustainability practice group at VOX Global, a public affairs and strategic communications firm, where he provides overall strategic and account management to several global and international companies’ sustainability initiatives.    He specializes in working with clients to integrate social and environmental issues into a company’s overall business strategies.

He also develops public/private partnerships to help clients identify innovative approaches to reducing their environmental impact or identify new market opportunities for their products.  Additionally, Mr. Calandro has contributed to a 2009 Corporate Eco-Forum published report on sustainability, titled “Show Me the Money:  The Business Case for Sustainability.” He has also taught a class on the ROI of sustainability at Washington University in St. Louis. 

Immediately prior to joining VOX, Mr. Calandro was a senior vice president and partner at Fleishman-Hillard, an international communications firm.  His responsibilities included co-leading the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility Specialty Practice Group.  During his tenure at Fleishman-Hillard, he led the agency’s efforts with the National Consumers League and released two studies that assessed the attitudes and opinions of U.S. consumers as they related to corporate citizenship. 

Before joining Fleishman-Hillard, Mr. Calandro spent nearly 20 years in Washington, DC, where he held several different positions, including working for U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy and U.S. Representative Terry Bruce.
