Tim Larson, Ph.D.

Tim Larson is currently an associate professor in the Department of Communication, University of Utah, where he teaches new media, communication technology, and integrated marketing communication classes. He is the coordinator of the New Media Sequence in the Communication Department. Dr. Larson holds the following degrees:  BA in Psychology, Augustana College, Rock Island, IL; MS in Radio-TV-Film, University of Kansas; and Ph.D. in Communication Studies, University of Wisconsin–Madison.  He has been co-director of the Integrated Marketing Communication Certificate Program at the University of Utah for the past 23 years.  With co-author Craig Wirth, he is the Executive Producer and Research Director of two video documentaries on Utah radio and television history and has conducted 100 oral history interviews of Utah Broadcast pioneers, completed over the last 20 years. He and Wirth have authored a biography of Utah broadcasting pioneer Earl J. Glade, set for publication by the University of Utah Press in 2012. He is an active teacher, writer and consultant.
