Susan Croce Kelly

Susan Croce Kelly (Kirkpatrick) is an award-winning writer and public relations executive.  She is President of Kirkpatrick International, Inc., a corporate writing and publishing company with clients as varied as Shell Oil, Hearst Magazines and the American Medical Association.    


In past years, she was Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Sandoz Agro, American subsidiary of the global Swiss chemical and pharmaceutical company, and is former Director of Communications for Monsanto Company. While at Monsanto, she created the first-ever corporate report on Social Responsibility and was instrumental in the public introduction of agricultural biotechnology.  She worked as a reporter on two metropolitan daily newspapers, is an award-winning speechwriter, author of many newspaper and magazine articles, and author of the prize-winning book, Route 66: the Highway and its People, (photo essay by Quinta Scott), University of Oklahoma Press, 1988.  In 2003 she founded Ozarks Magazine, a critically acclaimed bimonthly regional magazine in one of the fastest-growing recreation and retirement areas of the United States. 
A product of the American Midwest, she was graduated from Purdue University (BS Psychology), and Saint Louis University (Master of Arts, American History - Research) and the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Business Executive Management Program.   She is an accredited member of PRSA and former president of the St. Louis Chapter, PRSA. Presently she is a member of the Missouri Press Association and the Sierra Club.  She is a former member of the Author Page Society, IABC, Women in Communication, Golden Triangle Press Association, and Missouri Association of Publishers.
She lives with her husband, Joel Kirkpatrick, Ph.D., at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. They have three children and two grandchildren.
