Rob Doughty

Rob Doughty is a strategic public relations professional with a 36-year career in domestic and international corporate communications, including media relations, internal communications, marketing communications, financial, community affairs, consumer affairs and crisis communications for several Fortune 500 corporations. Doughty has provided communications counsel in the airline, food service, food processing, male grooming, biotechnology, healthcare, recycling and welding industries for both private and public companies.
Prior to starting his own firm, he served as vice president of communications for the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. In this capacity, he was responsible for all communications functions including media relations, internal communications and consumer relations for the fiftieth anniversary of Disneyland.
Prior to joining Disney, Doughty served as vice president of strategic communications for Burger King Corporation and vice president of public relations for Pizza Hut, Inc. He has also served in various communications positions for The Gillette Company, United Airlines, Hill & Knowlton, Wilson Foods Corporation and Hobart Brothers Company.
While at United Airlines, Doughty was responsible for developing and implementing the crisis communications plan used following two fatal aircraft accidents. He has received numerous awards and is a published author of three books. He serves as a member of the Board of Advisors to the Journal of Corporate Public Relations published by The Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. He currently is vice chairman of the board of Shake-A-Leg Miami, a not-for-profit organization that provides kids and adults with physical, developmental and economic challenges through a variety of water sports, including sailing, kayaking and swimming.
Doughty received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Eastern Kentucky
University and earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Communications from Ohio University. He is also a member of the Arthur W. Page Society.
