Richard L. Hanneman

Richard L. Hanneman is former president of the Salt Institute, a North American–based global nonprofit association of salt producers. He served as president from 1986 to 2010. Before that, he served as managing director for government and public affairs for the National Solid Wastes Association (now Environmental Industries Association). He prepared for his career in association management by serving for a decade in staff positions for state and federal elected officials. He holds an MA (history) from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and BA cum laude from Beloit College. Dick is the author of dozens of articles and is a frequent public speaker and media guest.
