Matthew P. Gonring

Matt Gonring is vice president of Corporate Communications at Jackson National Life Insurance Company. He oversees all corporate communications functions at Jackson, including executive communications, media relations, internal communications, community relations, financial communications and corporate advertising initiatives.
As a seasoned corporate executive, Matt has a proven record of accomplishments derived from more than 30 years of experience building and leading marketing and corporate communications teams in manufacturing, consumer goods, professional services, healthcare, and airlines businesses. He has led the functions of communications and marketing in five global enterprises over the past 22 years.
Before joining Jackson, Matt was Chief Communications Office at Pactiv Corporation. Until 2006, Matt was VP Global Marketing and Communications at Rockwell Automation. Prior to joining Rockwell, Matt was vice president, Corporate Communications for Baxter International and before Baxter, he spent three years as Managing Partner, Communications and Integrated Marketing, for Arthur Andersen. Before Andersen he spent ten years at USG Corporation as vice president, Corporate Communications. Matt held positions for eight years in the airline industry holding key headquarters communications assignments with United Airlines and Northwest Airlines. Additionally, he served in state and federal government environmental protection agencies early in his career.
Gonring has been a member of the graduate faculty at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Media and Integrated Marketing Communication’s IMC program for 12 years and is also an adjunct graduate professor at George Washington University. He has written extensively for professional and business periodicals and is a frequent speaker in top-level communications and marketing forums. A board member of The Arthur W. Page Society and co-chair of The Institute for Public Relations, Matt has served on Boards and as an advisor for 10 different consulting, not-for-profit and professional associations.
From American University, Washington D.C, he earned his MS in Public Relations. From the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point he earned a BS in Communications and Political Science.
