Kurt P. Stocker

Kurt P. Stocker serves as a Director of NYSE Regulation Inc., a subsidiary of NYSE Euronext and is the Chairman of the NYSE Individual Investor Advisory Board. He is a member of the  Board of Governors of Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. (formerly, NASD). And has served as a member of the  Advisory Committee of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Stocker is a visiting lecturer at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism Integrated Marketing Communications program. Previously, he was an Associate Professor at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism, where he served as Director of Graduate Public Relations. 

From 1988-1994, Stocker was Chief Corporate Relations Officer of Continental Bank Corp. He was responsible for Continental Bank's marketing, public relations, internal communications, advertising, industry, financial communications and legislative relations programs. Prior to joining Continental, he served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications for United Airlines from 1985, where he was responsible for global corporate communications and customer relations.

Until 1980, he headed a number of functions at Allstate Insurance Company, including public relations, employee/labor relations, employee benefits and human resources. Stocker was a Senior Vice President for the Chicago office of Hill and Knowlton,  Director of H&K’s Denver office and managed its National Labor Relations and Media Training practices.

He is a past President of the Arthur W. Page Society and a member of their Hall of Fame.  He served as a Member of The Disclosure Advisory Board of PR Newswire Association LLC, and Ketchum’s Corporate Governance Advisory Board. He was a Commodore of the Chicago Yacht Club. He is a principal in Story Trading, LLC. He is also widely published in articles and books on Corporate Governance, Public Relations, Integrated Marketing and Crisis Communications. Stocker earned his BS degree in Business from Marietta College in Ohio.
