Craig Carroll, Ph.D.

Craig Carroll teaches persuasion and advocacy as well as public opinion and reputation management research methods at Lipscomb University. He is department chair and associate professor. Carroll is a member of the Association for Educators in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), the National Communication Association (NCA), and the International Communication Association (ICA). He is chair of the public relations division of ICA. Professor Carroll has taught at the University of Southern California—Annenberg School and The University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill. At the latter, he was director of the Carolina Observatory on Corporate Reputation.

He is editor of Corporate Reputation and the News Media, featuring original research from 22 countries around the world. He was named PR News’ “Educator of the Year” in 2008. He earned a BS from Freed-Hardeman University, an MA from Abilene Christian University and a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin.  His book The Handbook of Communication and CorporateReputation with Steven Greyser and Eliot Schreiber will be published in 2012.
