Cornelius B. Pratt

Cornelius B. Pratt is a professor in the Department of Strategic Communication at Temple University, United States.  He also teaches at Temple University Japan.  He is a consultant to the African Public Relations Association.  Pratt is also an honorary visiting professor of mass communication at Bingham University, New Karu, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. He served for nearly six years in the communication program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Washington, DC, and for 11 years on the faculty of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University, the last eight years as full professor.

He serves on the editorial review boards of six academic journals, including The South East Asian Journal of Management, Public Relations Review, and the Journal of Pubic Relations Research.  He is coeditor of Case Studies in Crisis Communication: International Perspectives on Hits and Misses (New York: Routledge, forthcoming).   His current research interests include international and strategic communication, ethics, public relations and communication for national and regional development, particularly in emerging economies.   Pratt, accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America, earned his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota at Twin Cities.
