|
The entertainment industry, which used to be defined as Hollywood movies, now ranges from entertainment parks to professional sports. Walt Disney redefined entertainment with the creation of Disneyland and family-friendly television entertainment just as color television was being introduced in the U.S. The role of public relations in bringing about Disneyland’s Golden Anniversary transformed Disney entertainment and brought joy to all ages. It also resulted in $3.6 billion, 65,000 jobs and $225 million in taxes. Many also remember the viral marketing of The Blair Witch Project, in which immense interest was focused on a movie done by students on a shoestring budget. Rob Doughty Biography |
