We are immediately thrown into the fictional case of Magenta Butterfly Corporation. You are making a case for budgeting more money for philanthropy and other speakers are addressing the many needs of the company. Although, at first glance, it seems impossible to get the philanthropy budget approved, we are guided through the many real-world factors that could provide a positive outcome. There has been a change in social and customer expectations in the area of charitable giving by corporations. Numerous corporate examples are given, including General Mllls and Johnson & Johnson. Ford and McDonald’s, The role of the chief philanthropy officer is examined.
